His Holiness Sri Datta Vijayananda Thirta Swamiji of Sri Avadhoota Peetham, inaugurated the Mysore chapter of INDIAN COUNCIL OF ASTROLOGICAL SCIENCES, on august 2, 2009 and blessed the office bearers.

Swamiji emphasized the importance and greatness of astrology, and opinioned that it should be used for the welfare of common person. Vedic Astrology is a gift of ancient Seers. The knowledge of Astrology should be accompanied by taking up research today, where as the ancient Seers obtained their knowledge through penance. Blending of ancient and modern principles is the need of the day opinioned swamiji. He called upon ICAS Mysore Chapter to conduct seminars and workshops in this direction and promised all help towards the Astrological activity from the Datta Peetham.

The teachers and students of ICAS Mysore Chapter conducted a Seminar at the inaugural ceremony. They presented their ideas on Navamsa, , Mandi, Karana, Marriage and 7th house, Timing of Death through the Vimsotari Dasa , Marriage matching and Joint family, Choosing employment or self employment , and cycle of Yugas.

Shri T K Chandrasekhar, Vice Chairman, ICAS Mysore chapter, spoke on Astrology and Neural Science.

Chapter chairman Shri H Balakrishna illustrated in detail about - MANDI AND ITS ROLE IN PREDICTIVE ASTROLOGY and provided clarifications to the various doubts raised by the members.

Students of the Mysore Chapter of ICAS and the Veda Patashala of Sri Avadoota Dattapeetham participated in this seminar. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Sri H Balakrishna and expressed gratitude to the Dattapeetam for their encouragement in the field of astrology.
