Justice S. N. Kapoor, a former Judge of High Court of Delhi (presently a Member of National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, New Delhi) is well known in several fields: Law, Legal aid, Astrology and Social work. He has presided over / inaugurated numerous seminars and workshops on Legal, Economic, Health, Consumer, Community Welfare, Religious and Spiritual issues of National as well as International Level.

Though, astrology is his hobby only, yet by dint of his labour, his inquisitiveness, his analytical approach, his voracious reading habit and keen observation for last over forty seven years, he has excelled as a Secretary of Delhi Chater-1, as Controller of Examinations and as an Honorary National President. All these positions were conferred- rather thrust- on him by late Dr. B.V. Raman and as an ardent follower, he had to bow before Dr. Raman’s  wishes.

Lal Bahadur Shastri Vidypeetha, a Deemed University honored him by conferring honoris causa Degree of Vachaspati-Equivalent to D. Litt for his deep knowledge of astrology on 11th Nov. 2003 in recognition of his contribution to enrichment of stock of knowledge of Jyotish particularly by demonstrating its use in everyday life for growth and by using it as a practical remedial measure to increase sense of security. He was also blessed and honored by Jagadguru Shankracharya of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham by conferring on him title of Jyotish Ratna. On recommendation of Dr. B.V. Raman, ICAS conferred highest title of Jyotish Martand on him. Dozens of similar organizations have honored him by titles like Jyotish Bhanu, Jyotish Vachaspati, Jyotish Pracharya, and Jyotish Taponidhi etc.

During his tenure as Controller of examination and as Honorary National President a large number of Chapters and Centers have been opened; examinations are now being conducted in not only in English but also in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Marathi. He takes astrology as a tool to understand a person and to help him by advising to perform duties expected of him in a given situation. It is not an end in itself but just an instrument of God realization or say self-realization.

He has beaconed the path of many research oriented serious students of Astrology through his dozens of published articles in Astrological Magazine, and Jyotish Manthan etc. and hundreds of lectures on unbeaten tracks, like concept Poorna Parmatmamsa And Jeevamsa- Samanvit Parmatmamsa planets, use of Pancha Mahabhootas-basic elements in Medical Astrology, use of various names given to various Varga wise-particularly Navamsa, Dasmamsa, Dwadasamsa, Chaturthamsa, Chaturvimamsa, Shodashamsa, and Shastiyamsa etc., Rahu & Ketu as Yoga karakas, Use of Upagrahas in Dasa Phala.

He firmly believes and impresses upon his audience that  “Please do not jump to conclusion on the basis of a single factor, have a holistic approach, and apply old rules in modern times with circumspection of a vigilant scientist, observe rules, their exceptions and exception to exceptions to know the truth as far as humanly possible. There is no conflict between science and astrology both are complementary to each other for astrological predictions are based on astronomical data and rules empirically ascertained and verified on the touch stone of correctness of predictions.Due to his motivations several Astro-clubs and Study-circles have come into existence to promote astrology for precise predictions to ultimately establish righteousness and Dharma of all sects and religions.
